Projects That Speak for Themselves
From major municipal water and sewer installations to full road reconstruction and complex site development, Ludlow Construction’s work tells the story.
Scope: Water main installation, storm drainage system, sewer separation
Farmington Avenue Sewer Separation
Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) — Hartford, CT
Ludlow Construction completed this sewer separation project for the Metropolitan District Commission in Hartford. Work included the installation of a new 24-inch water main and a 48-inch RCP storm drainage system — the kind of underground infrastructure work that keeps a city running without anyone above ground knowing it happened.
Scope: Road reconstruction, road widening, drainage improvements, granite curbing, concrete sidewalks, paving, traffic signal installation
Boston Road Transportation Improvement
City of Springfield, MA
A full reconstruction of approximately 1.2 miles of Boston Road in Springfield — one of the city’s major arterial corridors. The project included road widening, drainage system improvements, granite curbing, concrete sidewalk installation, full-depth paving, and the installation of five new traffic signals. A complex, high-visibility public project delivered on time.
Scope: New road construction, sidewalk installation, underground utility infrastructure, site development
Legacy Farms North Road
Private Development — Hopkinton, MA
Ludlow Construction built 1.5 miles of new roadway, sidewalks, and full utility infrastructure through previously undeveloped land in Hopkinton — preparing the site for a new residential development. This is the kind of ground-up civil work that makes a project possible before any building goes up.
Scope: Road reconstruction, rock drilling, soldier pile installation, precast concrete retaining walls, slope stabilization
Black Brook Road Reconstruction & Slope Stabilization
Town of Savoy, MA
When Hurricane Irene washed out a section of Black Brook Road in Savoy, Ludlow Construction rebuilt it — and made sure it would hold. The work involved rock drilling, installation of soldier piles, and precast concrete retaining walls at depths exceeding 25 feet to properly support and stabilize the reconstructed roadway. Challenging terrain, demanding specs, executed right.
Scope: Site development, mass excavation, utility installation, drainage, grading, paving, curbing
CNR Springfield Rail Car Assembly Facility
Springfield, MA
Ludlow Construction served as the civil contractor on this large-scale commercial facility project, delivering complete site development from the ground up. Work included mass excavation, underground utility and drainage installation, grading, paving, and curbing — coordinated with Plaza Construction of New York as the construction manager. A full-scope sitework package on a high-profile industrial project.
“Every project we have completed was built by our crew — people who show up every day and take pride in doing the job right. That’s what Ludlow Construction has always been about.”
— Scott Pio, Co-Owner, Ludlow Construction Co.
